Psychologist (Humanitarian MHPSS)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a qualified Psychologist to join its Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) team in Kherson. Based in Kherson with regular travel to surrounding communities, you will deliver specialised mental‑health services to individuals and families affected by conflict and disaster.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual counselling, group sessions and psycho‑education to beneficiaries with moderate to severe mental‑health conditions.
• Conduct structured clinical assessments and develop personalised case‑management plans.
• Deliver Psychological First Aid, remote counselling and emergency response, including appropriate referrals.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and accurate documentation of all assessments, interventions and follow‑up actions.
• Collaborate closely with nurses, psychiatrists and partner organisations to ensure coordinated care.
• Participate actively in supervision meetings, team meetings and training sessions.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Psychology (Master’s level or equivalent) with relevant licensing.
• Experience providing clinical counselling and group facilitation in humanitarian or low‑resource settings.
• Ability to work independently in field environments and travel frequently within Kherson region.
• Strong commitment to confidentiality, ethical practice and client‑centred care.
