Head of Mission – Ukraine

About the role

The Head of Mission will lead INTERSOS’s humanitarian response in Ukraine from Kyiv, coordinating field operations and ensuring the delivery of assistance to the most vulnerable populations affected by the ongoing conflict.

Key responsibilities

• Report directly to the Regional Director and represent INTERSOS at the national level.
• Supervise the Heads of Programme, Human Resources, Finance, Security, Logistics & Supply, Field Base Managers and the Accountability Officer.
• Oversee the planning, implementation and monitoring of programmes across the country.
• Ensure compliance with INTERSOS policies, donor requirements and Ukrainian regulations.
• Maintain security protocols and manage risk for staff and assets.
• Facilitate regular field visits to assess needs and operational performance.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in humanitarian or development settings.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams in complex environments.
• Strong understanding of the humanitarian context in Ukraine.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
