Senior Support Engineer

About the role

Ciklum is seeking a Senior Support Engineer to join its Ukraine team full‑time. You will work within a cross‑functional development group, delivering, maintaining and optimizing complex enterprise solutions across on‑premises and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure and maintain software solutions in customer data centres and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Support enterprise data platforms such as Vertica, Hadoop, Kafka, SQL Server and related services.
• Use automation tools (Ansible) and configuration management to improve deployment consistency.
• Perform upgrades, patch validation, hot‑fix deployment, release planning and post‑upgrade health checks.
• Run daily health checks, respond to monitoring alerts, analyse logs and document remediation actions.
• Monitor operating systems, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), databases and application services.
• Triage incidents, review logs and system events, and escalate complex issues to Tier 3 or engineering teams.
• Support backup, restore and recovery processes for SQL Server, Vertica and Hadoop.
• Utilise ticketing and monitoring platforms such as ServiceNow, Grafana and Blink automation.
• Participate in after‑hours support and travel to customer sites as needed (≈15%).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Proven experience with high‑availability production applications.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong knowledge of enterprise networking and storage concepts.
