Driver – Transport Staff and Materials for International Rescue Committee

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a reliable Driver to transport staff, visitors, documents and goods safely across designated routes in Ukraine. This full‑time position supports the organization’s humanitarian missions by ensuring timely and secure movement of personnel and materials.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe and efficient transportation for IRC personnel and cargo.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections, pre‑long‑distance checks, and maintain accurate log sheets.
• Keep vehicles clean, fueled, and mechanically sound, and report any defects to the Fleet Manager.
• Maintain vehicle accessories and ensure compliance with IRC vehicle policies, including seat‑belt use.

Required profile

• Valid driving licence and at least two years of professional driving experience.
• No road‑safety related fines or convictions.
• Fluent in Ukrainian and Russian; English highly desirable.
• Ability to pass the IRC driving test and work independently with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Thorough knowledge of road rules and vehicle operation, including 4x4 and manual‑gear vehicles.
• Competence in routine vehicle maintenance.
• Familiarity with HF, VHF and satellite communications equipment (or ability to learn quickly).
• Basic computer skills for logging and reporting.
