Commercial Effectiveness Specialist

About the role

The Commercial Effectiveness Specialist will design, deliver and continuously improve training and capability‑building programmes for the commercial organisation. Working closely with sales, marketing and business leaders, the role will identify capability gaps and implement learning solutions that boost commercial performance and customer engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct training needs assessments and identify capability gaps within the commercial organisation.
• Design and implement learning strategies aligned with business objectives and commercial priorities.
• Develop curricula, learning materials, presentations, workshops, facilitator guides and supporting resources.
• Deliver training programmes and facilitate onboarding and continuous development for commercial teams.
• Spend time in the field accompanying commercial representatives, providing coaching and performance feedback.
• Reinforce sales methodologies, customer‑engagement practices and business processes.
• Partner with commercial leaders to improve sales effectiveness and execution consistency.
• Promote a train‑the‑trainer approach to support scalable capability development.
• Develop annual training plans, coordinate schedules, resources and external learning providers.
• Monitor participation, completion rates and measure learning effectiveness through assessments, feedback and business impact metrics.
• Track learning and development budgets and conduct cost‑benefit analyses.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Marketing, Economics or a related field.
• Proven certification in Business Training courses.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial training, learning & development, sales enablement or related fields.
• Experience within an international organisation, preferably in FMCG, B2B sales or agriculture‑related industries.
• Prior people‑management or team‑leadership experience (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering business training programmes.
• Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Power BI experience is a plus.
