Child Protection and MHPSS Officer

About the role

The Child Protection and MHPSS Officer will support World Vision’s programmes that protect vulnerable children and provide mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) in Ukraine. The role ensures technical quality, compliance with donor and organisational standards, and effective partnership implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide feedback on child protection and MHPSS approaches, tools, and technical documents to ensure consistency with CPMS, Inter‑Agency Case Management Guidelines and IASC MHPSS Guidelines.
• Identify implementation challenges, support follow‑up actions with technical advisors and project teams, and track sector updates for dissemination.
• Support partners in delivering activities according to approved workplans, budgets, indicators and donor requirements; monitor progress, risks and reporting quality.
• Assist partners with budget utilisation monitoring, preparation of reports (5Ws, ITT, narrative, interim) and coordination meetings.
• Maintain and implement capacity‑strengthening plans, organise trainings, orientations and technical learning sessions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in child protection and/or MHPSS programmes in humanitarian settings.
• Familiarity with relevant standards and guidelines (CPMS, Inter‑Agency Case Management, IASC MHPSS).
• Ability to work collaboratively with partners, government entities, clusters and other stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills to monitor implementation, identify gaps and propose corrective actions.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CPMS, Inter‑Agency Case Management Guidelines and IASC MHPSS Guidelines.
• Experience in monitoring, reporting and budget tracking for humanitarian projects.
• Capacity‑building and training facilitation experience.
