About the role
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Oracle Database Administrator to lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of mission‑critical Oracle environments. You will collaborate with development, infrastructure and governance teams to ensure reliability, scalability and compliance across enterprise‑grade databases.
Key responsibilities
- Architect, configure and manage enterprise‑grade Oracle database environments.
- Lead major upgrades, patching cycles, platform migrations and consolidation projects.
- Design and operate high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions using Oracle Data Guard.
- Perform advanced performance tuning, including SQL optimisation, instance tuning and memory management.
- Implement and optimise backup and recovery strategies with RMAN.
- Conduct capacity planning, growth analysis and recommend scalability improvements.
- Enforce security standards, credential rotations, access governance and audit compliance.
- Support development teams with code reviews, query optimisation and schema design.
- Validate deployment plans, participate in change advisory boards and ensure successful releases.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards and best practices.
- Drive automation using Shell, Python and Ansible.
- Mentor Level 2 DBAs and act as escalation point for complex issues.
Required profile
- 6–12 years of Oracle DBA experience.
- Deep knowledge of RAC, ASM, multitenant architecture, partitioning and advanced Oracle internals.
- Strong experience with Data Guard configuration, switchover/failover and disaster‑recovery design.
- Expertise in SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning using AWR, ASH and trace analysis.
- Proficiency with RMAN backup strategies, restore troubleshooting and recovery scenarios.
- Solid Linux administration skills with Shell and Python scripting.
- Working knowledge of an additional RDBMS (e.g., MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL or MongoDB).
- Proven leadership in high‑impact production issue resolution.
- Upper‑intermediate English (B2) communication skills.
