About the role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Protection Caseworker (Rule of Law) to provide direct assistance to individuals at risk in Kharkiv, Ukraine. You will work closely with IRC protection teams and external service providers to ensure timely, client‑centered protection services.
Key responsibilities
- Identify individuals at risk through outreach, referrals, and coordination with local authorities and humanitarian mechanisms.
- Conduct protection needs assessments, risk evaluations, and develop case plans following IRC and UNHCR SOPs.
- Provide ongoing psychosocial support, case follow‑up, and ensure access to protection services.
- Advocate on behalf of clients to secure services and represent their views in relevant meetings.
- Maintain accurate, confidential case documentation in line with data‑protection standards.
- Build strong partnerships with Organizations for Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and community structures to ensure inclusive support.
Required profile
- Solutions‑driven, passionate change‑maker with experience in humanitarian protection or case management.
- Ability to work in field settings, conduct assessments, and manage case files securely.
- Strong communication and advocacy skills, able to liaise with authorities, NGOs, and community groups.
- Knowledge of international protection standards and SOPs (e.g., IRC/UNHCR guides).
Required skills
- Familiarity with protection case management procedures and risk assessment tools.
- Proficiency in maintaining confidential records and using case management documentation systems.
