Mechanical Engineer – Consumer Electronics & IoT

About the role

We are looking for a self‑guided Mechanical Engineer to drive mechanical innovation from concept through high‑volume production. You will own the full product development cycle, from CAD modeling to field support, ensuring quality, cost and schedule targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mechanical components from initial concept to mass production, creating high‑fidelity CAD models, detailed drawings and comprehensive BOMs.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Firmware and Optical engineers to ensure seamless hardware integration.
• Lead mechanical validation tests (fit, stress, thermal) and support design verification through iterative prototyping and lab testing.
• Apply DFM/DFA principles to optimise designs for performance, cost and manufacturability.
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments and FMEAs, managing engineering documentation and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to meet quality, cost and schedule milestones.
• Provide field support and drive iterative design improvements throughout the product lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical design for consumer electronics, IoT devices or products with varying IP ratings.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, GD&T and ISO/ASME standards.
• Demonstrated ability to design plastic parts for injection molding and select appropriate materials.
• Excellent work ethic, ownership mindset and ability to communicate technical risks to stakeholders.
• Intermediate proficiency in written and spoken English (B1).
