Head of Office (m/f/d) – Ukraine

About the role

The German Red Cross seeks a dynamic Head of Office to lead its operations in Ukraine. This senior position oversees the implementation of humanitarian programmes, coordinates disaster‑response activities and ensures alignment with the Red Cross Fundamental Principles.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Ukraine office, managing staff and resources.
• Coordinate disaster management, program and project activities in line with the organisation’s mission.
• Maintain relationships with sister National Societies, the ICRC, IFRC and other humanitarian partners.
• Ensure compliance with the Red Cross principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality and independence.
• Oversee budgeting, reporting and risk‑reducing initiatives, especially in contexts of climate change and armed conflict.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior management or leadership within humanitarian or disaster‑relief settings.
• Strong understanding of the Red Cross / Red Crescent Movement and its Fundamental Principles.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to work in a complex, multi‑partner environment.
