Google Cloud Platform Architect (Remote)

About the role

BairesDev is seeking a senior Google Cloud Platform Architect to lead AI‑driven mainframe modernization projects. You will transform legacy COBOL systems into modern Java, Go, or .NET applications on GCP, working closely with client stakeholders in a consulting environment.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and lead application modernization initiatives, re‑architecting legacy and mainframe‑class systems for GCP.
• Design data architecture solutions on GCP, including BigQuery and analytics pipelines.
• Communicate with client stakeholders to convey business criticality of legacy systems.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams within a fully GCP‑based environment.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture with Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven track record in application modernization to Java, Go, or .NET on cloud platforms.
• Strong background in data architecture on GCP, especially BigQuery and pipeline design.
• Consulting or professional services experience with client‑facing delivery.
• Experience with AI engineering practices such as harness engineering or spec‑driven design.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
