Field Monitoring Engineer (Construction Projects)

About the role

CTG is recruiting two Field Monitoring Engineers to monitor construction-related activities and other humanitarian interventions in Ukraine, in line with approved monitoring plans. The role reports to a direct supervisor and lasts 6 months, starting 1 January 2027, across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that construction and rehabilitation works meet Ukrainian codes, international standards, project standards and donor requirements.
• Review technical documentation such as approved drawings, BoQs, contractor bills and material specifications to check quality and compliance.
• Carry out site visits to assess progress and technical quality.
• Check completed questionnaires before submission.
• Follow data protection, confidentiality and informed consent rules, and comply with PSEA and accountability principles.
• Safeguard equipment, materials and information entrusted to the organisation and report protection concerns or serious incidents through the reporting channels.
• Work independently under challenging field conditions, following local laws, humanitarian principles and security protocols.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Construction, Environmental, WASH, Architecture or a related field (essential).
• 3-5 years of relevant experience (essential).
• 2-4 years of experience in data or information management, ICT or database management of engineering projects (essential).
• 2-4 years of experience in Ukraine (essential).
• Fluent Ukrainian (essential); working-level English desirable.
• Desirable: 2-4 years of monitoring, data collection and evaluation experience for international projects, preferably in humanitarian, livelihoods and food security fields.

Required skills

• Use of monitoring tools, Kobo/ODK, GIS and technical measurement methods.
• Familiarity with mobile data collection tools such as Kobo Toolbox is strongly preferred.
