Child Protection Psychosocial Support Worker

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a dedicated Child Protection Psychosocial Support (PSS) Worker to lead and implement psychosocial activities for children, adolescents, and their caregivers in Mykolaiv. Working within Safe Healing and Learning Spaces, you will help create a secure, nurturing environment where young people affected by conflict can develop socially, emotionally, and academically.

Key responsibilities

• Design and facilitate social‑emotional learning (SEL) and life‑skills sessions for children (6‑11) and adolescents (12‑17).
• Organise arts‑based and skills‑building activities for children aged 2‑17.
• Conduct parenting and stress‑management workshops for caregivers.
• Set weekly activity schedules and ensure adherence to IRC program guidelines and child protection standards.
• Create safe, predictable spaces for play, learning, and social interaction.
• Monitor children with special needs and promote inclusive participation.
• Identify and refer suspected child protection cases to the IRC focal point.
• Respond to community inquiries about program activities.
• Support monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tasks to maintain program quality.
