MHPSS Psychosocial Worker Consultant (Zaporizhzhia)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Ukraine is seeking a Psychosocial Worker Consultant to support its community‑based Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) programme in Zaporizhzhia. The role focuses on raising awareness, delivering information sessions, and assessing needs among veterans, their families, and other vulnerable groups.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct community‑level awareness‑raising activities for veterans, families and other vulnerable groups in Zaporizhzhia.
• Organise and deliver information sessions for staff at healthcare facilities with existing or planned veteran spaces.
• Carry out key informant interviews and focus group discussions to identify MHPSS needs and service gaps.
• Develop and implement community‑based MHPSS interventions based on assessment findings.
• Collect basic data, prepare reports and ensure timely documentation of activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience delivering MHPSS or psychosocial support services, preferably to conflict‑affected populations.
• Experience facilitating group sessions, awareness‑raising activities and basic needs assessments (FGDs, KIIs) is an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work sensitively with veterans and families.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good organisational and time‑management skills.
• Basic reporting and data‑collection abilities.
• Fluency in Ukrainian; basic English knowledge is an asset.
