Health Field Officer – Kharkiv

About the role

The International Committee of the Red Cross is seeking a Health Field Officer to support its health programme in Kharkiv. The role focuses on implementing, monitoring and coordinating first‑aid and pre‑hospital emergency care activities for the civilian population in a conflict‑affected environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct field assessments and regular visits to monitor first‑aid and pre‑hospital emergency care activities.
• Support the planning, coordination and delivery of trainings and workshops using ICRC training material.
• Update and maintain a mapping of health facilities and a networking list within the area of intervention.
• Analyse statistical data, identify trends and provide recommendations for assisting weapon‑wounded patients.
• Maintain health databases, records and registration systems for hospital and primary‑care activities.
• Provide regular contact, visits and support to primary health‑care facilities covered by the programme.
• Contribute to the development of the delegation’s primary‑health‑care strategy for Ukraine.
• Facilitate translation, liaison with authorities and follow‑up of correspondence and donation certificates.
• Prepare and distribute medical stock to health facilities according to operational priorities and ICRC logistics procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in health programmes, preferably in first‑aid or pre‑hospital emergency care.
• Ability to conduct assessments, collect data and produce analytical reports.
• Experience in organising and delivering trainings or workshops.
• Strong organisational skills for maintaining facility mappings, databases and medical stock.
• Willingness to work in a field environment and travel regularly within the assigned area.
