Accountant – Nonprofit Finance Specialist

About the role

Sigma Software is seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to manage full‑cycle accounting for a nonprofit organization. You will handle grant funds, maintain accurate bookkeeping, and ensure compliance with Ukrainian accounting and tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accounting of assets, liabilities, fixed assets, inventory, and cash movements.
• Develop and implement financial discipline measures and efficient resource use.
• Receive, control, and record primary documentation and personnel records.
• Provide management with reliable financial information and prepare reports.
• Develop the chart of accounts and create primary accounting documents.
• Participate in economic analysis to identify internal reserves and improve document flow.
• Maintain accounting databases and update reference regulatory information.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience as an accountant, preferably in nonprofit or charitable organizations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Ukrainian accounting and tax legislation for nonprofits.
• Hands‑on experience with full‑cycle accounting, including fixed assets, inventory, AP/AR, and cash transactions.
