International Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an International Accountant to join Sigma Software’s global finance team. The position is full‑time with a flexible setup (remote or hybrid) and offers the chance to work across multiple jurisdictions and entities while developing towards a Senior Accountant role.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records for assigned entities and ensure accurate transaction recognition.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, perform reconciliations and support month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Coordinate with local accounting and tax advisors in various jurisdictions.
• Prepare information for VAT, corporate tax and statutory reporting, reviewing calculations from external advisors.
• Support statutory audits and keep proper accounting documentation.
• Communicate directly with internal stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Legal and other teams.
• Identify issues, take ownership of assigned areas and drive resolutions.
• Contribute to process, control and automation improvements, including AI‑driven solutions.

• Strong sense of ownership and proactivity, driving issues to resolution.
• Good judgment on communication, escalation and prioritisation.
• Critical thinker focused on the logic behind numbers.
• Learning agility to quickly understand new entities, jurisdictions and technologies, including AI.
• Team player comfortable collaborating with colleagues and external advisors across locations.

Required skills

• 1C accounting software.
• Microsoft Excel.
• Xero or QuickBooks (or similar accounting systems).
• Use of AI tools in day‑to‑day work.
