Senior Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Associate

About the role

The Senior MHPSS Associate will work under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Head of Programmes (Humanitarian) to strengthen the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Unit in Kyiv. The role focuses on capacity‑building, reporting, partner coordination and the delivery of MHPSS activities in a humanitarian context.

Key responsibilities

• Support capacity‑strengthening initiatives and reporting processes for the MHPSS Unit.
• Coordinate with partners, government counterparts, NGOs and inter‑agency mechanisms.
• Assist in the implementation, documentation and reporting of MHPSS programmes.
• Contribute to research, assessments, data collection and evidence‑generation activities.
• Support the Disability Inclusion portfolio and integrate inclusion principles into programme design.
• Liaise with relevant authorities and ensure compliance with organisational standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma with six years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, Public Health or a related field with four years of experience.
• Proven experience in implementing and administering MHPSS programmes in humanitarian or development settings.
• Experience in assessments, research, data collection, analysis or evidence‑generation.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate with government, NGOs and community stakeholders.
• Experience supporting Disability Inclusion programmes is highly desirable.
• Fluency in English and Ukrainian.

• Strong organisational and coordination skills.
• Ability to draft reports, correspondence and programme documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
