Integration Engineer

About the role

Swarmer is building autonomous drone teams for defense applications. As an Integration Engineer you will bridge hardware and software, ensuring our drones operate reliably in demanding environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop hardware architectures for drone systems, selecting components and planning system‑level integration.
• Develop and optimise embedded software for companion computers, microcontrollers and flight controllers, focusing on real‑time performance.
• Build, test and iterate hardware prototypes to meet product specifications and reliability standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to streamline production, create assembly procedures and enforce quality control.
• Work with vendors to specify requirements, evaluate components and integrate third‑party hardware solutions.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with embedded hardware, microcontrollers and operating systems; Embedded Linux is a strong plus.
• Demonstrated expertise in UAV technologies, flight controllers and communication protocols such as MAVLink.
• Strong technical background in networking, Linux, shell scripting, Docker, Python and databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Familiarity with platforms like Raspberry Pi and flight controllers (e.g., Matek, OrangeCube).
• Proven ability to plan, execute and document complex hardware‑software integrations.
• Excellent communication skills and analytical problem‑solving abilities.
