VP of Engineering

About the role

Swarmer builds software that makes drones autonomous and enables them to operate together in large, coordinated teams without pilots. The technology has been battle‑tested in Ukraine and the company is now expanding internationally after a successful NASDAQ debut.

Key responsibilities

• Set technical strategy and own architecture decisions at the intersection of product and engineering.
• Prioritize work to align with roadmap and business value, saying no to off‑road initiatives.
• Build and own core engineering processes: pipelines, release management, testing, and incident response.
• Manage technical debt and coordinate across cloud, onboard software, autonomy, QA, hardware integration, product, and field operations.
• Scale and lead the engineering organization, including managers, team leads, and senior contributors.

Required profile

• Strong engineering leadership experience building complex, mission‑critical or high‑load enterprise/B2B systems.
• Experience managing teams of 50+ people.
• Embedded/hardware‑close software experience with real‑world constraints.
• Solid understanding of Linux‑based edge systems, networking, containers, and ARM platforms (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi).
• Experience with distributed systems, fault tolerance, fleet management, and remote updates.
• Business‑minded approach with ability to define technical strategy and align execution with priorities.
