Technical Officer – Gender & Human Rights

About the role

The Technical Officer (Gender and Human Rights) will support WHO's implementation of the General Programme of Work (GPW14) and the European Programme of Work 2025-2029 (EPW2) in Ukraine. This position focuses on integrating gender equality and human rights perspectives into health programmes and policies.

Key responsibilities

• Operationalise GPW14 and EPW2 objectives related to gender and human rights within the health sector.
• Provide evidence‑based guidance, norms and best practices to national health authorities.
• Coordinate multisectoral stakeholders to align strategies and promote coherent responses to health challenges.
• Support the development, monitoring and reporting of gender‑responsive health initiatives.
• Contribute to WHO’s role as an impartial coordinator and knowledge hub for health‑related gender and human rights issues.

Required profile

• Background in gender equality, human rights, public health or a related field.
• Experience working with international or governmental health programmes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders across sectors.
