Senior Data Engineer

About the role

PwC’s Cloud & Digital team in Lviv is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design and implement modern data platforms for clients across Central and Eastern Europe. You will work with cutting‑edge cloud technologies, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and help shape data‑driven solutions for industries such as consumer goods, retail, manufacturing, and financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Build data platforms—including warehouses, lakes, and lakehouses—using Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Data Factory.
• Design data flows with medallion architecture and support migrations from legacy systems.
• Conduct data assessments with modelers and analysts, addressing data‑quality issues.
• Gather requirements from senior stakeholders and contribute to modern data‑architecture design.
• Support data‑governance activities, focusing on master‑data management and data quality.
• Apply data‑science and analytics use cases to industry‑specific challenges.

Required profile

• At least 4 years of experience in data engineering, BI, or data science.
• Hands‑on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery or Microsoft Fabric.
• Proven ability to build warehouses or lakehouses using Azure Data Factory or Synapse.
• Strong proficiency in PySpark/Python and SQL.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) and issue‑tracking tools (Jira).
• Fluent English (B2 or higher) and ability to produce technical documentation.
