Senior Android BSP Engineer

About the role

Jabil is seeking a highly skilled Senior Android BSP Engineer to develop and optimize Android-based embedded platforms. You will work at the intersection of hardware and software, customizing core Android components and solving complex system-level challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain Android BSP components and platform integrations for embedded devices.
• Integrate and support Android HAL components, focusing on camera, display, and media subsystems.
• Collaborate with hardware teams for platform bring‑up, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Configure Device Tree, modify drivers, and maintain Linux kernel and embedded platform components.
• Debug software and hardware issues across Android BSP, HAL, and Embedded Linux layers using tools such as ADB, logcat, and dmesg.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional embedded software/firmware development experience.
• 2+ years of hands‑on Android BSP development and platform customization.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and proactive, independent working style.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Required skills

• Android AOSP development and recent Android versions (preferably Android 14+).
• Android HAL and subsystems (camera, display, media).
• Proficiency in C/C++ development.
• Embedded Linux development, including power management, display drivers, Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth stacks.
• Familiarity with Android development tools: ADB, Fastboot, Repo, Git, Gerrit.
• Scripting with Bash or Python (nice to have).
• Experience with NDK toolchain and Linux kernel development (nice to have).
