Project Specialist – Migration & Border Governance

About the role

The International Organization for Migration is seeking two Project Specialists to support the implementation of Migration and Border Governance (MBG) activities in Ukraine. Reporting to the Chief of Mission, Senior Programme Officer and directly to the National Programme Officer, the incumbent will play a key role in delivering project results on the ground.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of MBG project activities.
• Monitor budgets, cash flows and financial controls in line with IOM rules.
• Liaise with government authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and other partners to ensure effective collaboration.
• Prepare reports, data analyses and documentation for internal and donor reporting.
• Support procurement, logistical arrangements and field operations as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma with six years relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields with at least four years of professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience in migration and border governance, integrated border management and EU alignment issues.
• Familiarity with IOM administrative and financial management procedures.
• Fluency in English and Ukrainian.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adhere to IOM values and competencies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Competence in spreadsheet creation, data analysis and basic budgeting tools.
