Mid-level QA Engineer – AI-powered pharma platform

About the role

SCIMUS is seeking a Mid-level QA Engineer to join a product team building an AI‑powered platform for the pharmaceutical industry. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and data accuracy of a complex, data‑driven solution.

Key responsibilities

• Design, write and maintain test cases, checklists and test plans for new and existing features.
• Execute functional, regression, smoke and exploratory testing across the platform, including AI personalization engines and analytics dashboards.
• Test REST APIs using tools such as Postman and validate data flows between the platform, client uploads and generated reports.
• Verify data accuracy on analytics boards and dashboards.
• Log, track and prioritize bugs, collaborating with developers to reproduce, clarify and verify fixes.
• Participate in requirement reviews and sprint planning, raising quality and edge‑case concerns early.
• Work with the team to continuously improve QA processes and testing coverage.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented with a strong sense of ownership over feature quality.
• Critical thinker who investigates root causes of defects.
• Clear communicator with developers, PMs and clients.
• Organised and able to manage testing scope across multiple features or releases in parallel.
• Curious about data‑driven and AI‑powered products and motivated to understand underlying business logic.
• 2‑3 years of commercial QA experience, Agile/Scrum background, and intermediate (B1‑B2) English.

Required skills

• Manual testing: functional, regression, smoke, exploratory and UI testing.
• REST API testing (e.g., Postman) and interpreting API responses.
• Test documentation: test cases, test plans, checklists, bug reports.
• Bug tracking and test management tools (Jira, TestRail or similar).
• Experience with data‑heavy or analytics/BI‑driven products.
• Basic SQL for data verification.
• Familiarity with automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) is a plus.
• Exposure to AI/ML‑driven features, pharma or healthcare domains, and performance testing basics is desirable.
