MHPSS Technical Advisor (Ukraine Nationals Only)

About the role

The MHPSS Technical Advisor will provide technical leadership for high‑quality, integrated mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) programmes in Ukraine. Working under the Global MHPSS Technical Advisor, the role ensures interventions are evidence‑based, contextually appropriate, and aligned with Save the Children’s strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic and technical direction for MHPSS programming across sectors in Ukraine.
• Develop and steer country‑level MHPSS thematic plans and identify strategic integration priorities.
• Support programme design, proposal development, and donor reporting with technical inputs.
• Supervise, train and coach staff and partners delivering MHPSS through static Child‑Friendly Spaces and mobile approaches.
• Adapt and contextualise evidence‑based MHPSS tools and training packages for each programme location.
• Contribute to advocacy, external representation, partnership development and strengthening referral pathways.
• Respond to major humanitarian emergencies, adjusting working hours as needed.

Required profile

• Ukrainian national with extensive experience in MHPSS programming in humanitarian and development contexts.
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership, supervision and capacity‑building to multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of global MHPSS standards, evidence‑based approaches and sector‑wide integration.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to emergency situations.
