MEAL Assistant

About the role

The MEAL Assistant supports the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team by collecting, managing and analysing programme data. This role ensures that high‑quality, timely information is available for evidence‑based decision‑making and organisational learning.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct face‑to‑face and phone interviews using Kobo digital tools to gather quantitative and qualitative data.
• Support monitoring activities, needs assessments, surveys and other data‑collection exercises, including field visits for verification.
• Enter, maintain and update databases, performing routine data cleaning, verification and validation.
• Identify data quality issues, report them and support corrective actions.
• Summarise data for analysis and contribute to monitoring, assessment and evaluation reports.
• Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of data in line with organisational policies, including encryption and access control.
• Collaborate with programme and MEAL staff to provide timely, high‑quality data and support the team with additional tasks as required.
