Maintenance Worker

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a Maintenance Worker to keep its Kharkiv office premises, furniture, equipment and surrounding areas in good technical condition. You will perform routine repairs, support cleaning activities and help create a safe, functional and comfortable workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, install, dismantle and repair office furniture, fittings and fixtures.
• Move furniture, equipment and other assets as required.
• Carry out minor cosmetic repairs to walls, doors, windows, locks and door closers.
• Inspect plumbing, household appliances and office premises; arrange specialised repairs when needed.
• Perform basic plumbing tasks such as fixing leaks, replacing faucets, hoses and clearing simple blockages.
• Conduct elementary electrical maintenance, including replacing bulbs, sockets, switches, light fixtures and installing cables.
• Assist with general cleaning and relocation of heavy items.
• Maintain entrance areas, surrounding grounds and utility rooms.
• Carry out basic heating‑system maintenance within the assigned scope.
• Monitor and replenish maintenance tools, materials and supplies.

Required profile

• Vocational education or completed training in a relevant technical field.
• At least one year of experience in general maintenance and repair work.
• Practical experience using hand and power tools.
• Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail and reliability.
• Ability to work independently and respond promptly to maintenance issues.
• Good knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
