Information Management Officer – Head of Unit

About the role

The Information Management Officer will lead OCHA Ukraine's Information Management Unit, ensuring that humanitarian data is collected, analysed, and shared effectively across partners. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Office, the role combines strategic planning with day‑to‑day coordination of information flows.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an information management network in line with IASC guidance.
• Coordinate with government counterparts to align information activities with national standards.
• Provide training and expertise on information management tools and platforms to OCHA staff and partners.
• Advocate for data standards, open information exchange, and identify opportunities for remote IM support.
• Lead the Information Management Unit, develop annual work plans, monitor performance, and report on outcomes.
• Advise senior OCHA leadership on operational information management priorities.
• Oversee the production and dissemination of high‑quality information products, tools, and services.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian information management and coordination.
• Strong understanding of IASC guidelines and national information standards.
• Experience leading a team and managing short‑term surge staffing.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including UN agencies, NGOs, and government bodies.
