Head of Psychological Services

About the role

Gen.Ukrainian is seeking a senior professional to lead its psychological services for children and adolescents affected by war‑related trauma. The Head of Psychological Services will shape programme design, ensure quality and ethical standards, and integrate evidence‑based mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) across all initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of psychological support programmes for children and adolescents.
• Maintain quality, ethical standards, and consistency of interventions across all Gen.Ukrainian projects.
• Supervise, mentor, and support a team of psychologists.
• Develop methodological materials, protocols, and assessment tools.
• Integrate psychological components into camps, educational initiatives, and long‑term support programmes.
• Contribute to research, learning, and evidence‑based practice in MHPSS.
• Collaborate with Gen.Hope, academic partners, and external stakeholders.
• Support documentation, monitoring, evaluation, and donor reporting related to psychological services.

Required profile

• Degree in psychology, child psychology, psychotherapy or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of practical experience working with children and adolescents.
• Experience with trauma, loss, displacement or war‑affected children is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in supervision, team leadership and programme development.
• Strong understanding of ethical standards, safeguarding and child‑centred approaches.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Fluency in Ukrainian; professional English is an advantage.
• Commitment to Gen.Ukrainian’s mission to support children affected by war.
