Full Stack Engineer (React & Java) – 18‑month Project

About the role

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join an 18‑month project developing a rewards platform that encourages local shopping. The solution enables users to collect points at partner businesses and redeem them for discounts, strengthening relationships between customers and local companies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and evolve mobile apps (React Native/Expo), web frontend (TypeScript), backend services (Java/Spring Boot), and partner portals (CMS).
• Design, implement, and test new features end‑to‑end.
• Ensure performance, scalability, and security of backend systems and database queries.
• Extend and improve automated test processes.
• Continuously optimise code quality, development processes, and system performance.
• Maintain and extend technical documentation.
• Collaborate closely with teammates and share technical knowledge.

Required profile

• Degree or comparable qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of professional full‑stack development experience with a front‑end emphasis.
• Strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, React Native (Expo a plus), Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA, PostgreSQL, SQL, REST APIs and microservice architectures.
• Familiarity with RabbitMQ, Docker, Kubernetes and GitLab CI/CD (not mandatory).
• Nice‑to‑have experience with Elasticsearch and security principles for Docker/Kubernetes.
