Education Project Manager

About the role

The Education Project Manager will lead the delivery of the British Council’s education portfolio in the assigned country, overseeing student mobility, tertiary education partnerships and client‑funded programmes. The role ensures projects are delivered to high‑quality standards, on time and in full compliance with reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of the country education portfolio, including British Council global programmes such as student mobility and tertiary education partnerships.
• Manage projects from inception to completion, overseeing contracts, project plans, stakeholder engagement and compliance reporting.
• Maintain and develop relationships with external stakeholders, including the UK tertiary education sector and local partners, and procure services as needed.
• Hold suppliers accountable for contract performance and ensure delivery against agreed outcomes.
• Build strong internal and external networks to support programme objectives.
• Ensure sound financial planning in collaboration with finance teams and keep financial year plans up to date.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing education‑related projects or programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders.
• Strong commercial and financial management skills, including budgeting and financial planning.
• Experience in contract management and supplier oversight.
