Director of Advocacy, Campaigns & Communications (Ukraine)

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a senior leader to head the Advocacy, Campaigns, Communications and Media function for its Ukraine Country Office. The role will shape public and private advocacy, drive high‑impact campaigns, and manage media relations to influence the humanitarian response and long‑term development for children affected by the conflict.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of an evidence‑based advocacy strategy aligned with programmatic priorities such as child protection and education in emergencies.
• Oversee integrated campaigns, communications, and media activities to raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis and promote policy change.
• Provide strategic risk mapping, mitigation and management support to the Senior Management Team.
• Ensure strong coordination between advocacy, program teams and other senior directors to embed advocacy in program design.
• Represent the organization with external partners, donors, media and policy makers.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in advocacy, campaigning, communications or media within the humanitarian or development sector.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills for policy analysis, risk assessment and strategic planning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
