Director of Advocacy, Campaigns, Communication and Media (Ukraine Response)

About the role

The Director of Advocacy, Campaigns, Communication and Media will lead Save the Children’s external and internal advocacy, campaigning, media and communications efforts for the Ukraine Country Office. Reporting to the Senior Management Team, this senior role shapes strategy, drives public engagement and supports programmatic priorities such as child protection and education in emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement an integrated advocacy, campaigns, communications and media strategy aligned with humanitarian and development objectives.
• Provide leadership to the ACCM team, ensuring evidence‑based, program‑driven advocacy that enhances the impact of child‑focused programmes.
• Collaborate with other senior directors to secure resources, align messaging and embed advocacy across all operational areas.
• Lead risk‑mapping, mitigation and management processes, focusing on issues that affect programme delivery and the safety of children.
• Produce policy analysis, strategic plans and high‑visibility communications on the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
• Represent Save the Children in media engagements, public forums and stakeholder meetings to amplify the voice of children.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in advocacy, campaigning, communications or media, preferably within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and influencing public policy.
• Strong understanding of child protection, education in emergencies and humanitarian‑development nexus.
• Excellent strategic thinking, risk management and stakeholder engagement skills.
