Associate Programme Management Officer

About the role

The United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) within the Department of Peace Operations is seeking an Associate Programme Management Officer to support mine action programmes in Ukraine. Based in the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Kyiv, the role provides research, policy analysis and administrative support to the Senior Mine Action Advisor.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and analyse statistical data on mine action activities in Ukraine, preparing background papers, analytical notes and report sections.
• Support policy coordination and evaluation by monitoring emerging trends and preparing briefing materials.
• Assist in organising consultative meetings, workshops and field missions, including agenda setting, participant identification and logistics.
• Participate in field missions to collect data and provide substantive and administrative support.
• Coordinate budget‑related activities such as programme preparation, progress reporting and financial statement compilation.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for pledging, work programmes and programme budgets.

Required profile

• University degree in international relations, development studies, public administration or a related field.
• Experience in programme or project support, preferably in humanitarian or UN contexts.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent written communication skills in English.
