Accounting Operations Assistant

About the role

RemoFirst is looking for an Accounting Operations Assistant to join its fast‑growing finance team. You will handle high‑volume transaction processing, maintain accurate financial records and support day‑to‑day finance operations in a dynamic, AI‑forward startup environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process high‑volume transactions across 50 currencies and ensure timely financial closes.
• Perform account reconciliations and implement financial controls under the guidance of the Financial Controller.
• Manage large datasets in Excel – build pivot tables, apply VLOOKUPs and SUMIFs, and generate insightful reports.
• Record and reconcile transactions in QuickBooks Online, maintaining up‑to‑date ledgers.
• Translate raw data into clear financial statements such as balance sheet, P&L and cash‑flow reports.
• Support operations by tracking payments, updating vendor/client ledgers and assisting with variance analysis.
• Participate in improving internal processes and identifying automation opportunities.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of balance sheet, profit & loss and cash‑flow statements gained through accounting, financial control or audit experience.
• Comfortable working in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment with evolving processes.
• Analytical mindset able to break down complex data into meaningful insights.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (large datasets, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIFS, analytical modelling).
• QuickBooks Online for recording and reconciling financial transactions.
• Knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS accounting frameworks.
