Senior Platform Software Engineer

About the role

Preply is looking for a Senior Platform Software Engineer to help build and operate the core platform that powers millions of learners and tutors worldwide. You will work on high‑traffic services, improve reliability, and enable faster development for engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own availability and performance of mission‑critical services.
• Design and implement automation to prevent recurring incidents.
• Enhance system scalability, observability, and alerting mechanisms.
• Develop tooling that accelerates software development across the organization.
• Participate in sustainable incident response and conduct blameless post‑mortems.
• Collaborate with product and other engineering teams to deliver platform improvements.

Required profile

• Several years of experience building large‑scale, distributed systems.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Ability to work autonomously in small, high‑ownership teams.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑team collaboration.
