Senior Kotlin/Android Platform Software Engineer

About the role

Intellias is seeking a Senior Kotlin/Android Platform Software Engineer to join a client’s Connectivity team working on Android integration for an in‑vehicle infotainment (IVI) platform used in next‑generation Mercedes‑Benz vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop connectivity‑specific features for an Android‑based IVI platform.
• Collaborate with the client’s architecture team to review and adapt application architecture.
• Provide technical consulting and advisory for Android system customization.
• Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure best practices for Kotlin development.
• Investigate reported issues, analyse logs and prepare fixes.
• Share Kotlin and Android expertise within the team and mentor teammates.

Required profile

• 3+ years hands‑on experience with Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
• 3+ years commercial Kotlin software development experience.
• Experience in automotive IVI software development.
• Familiarity with Android SELinux policies and basic VHAL concepts.
• Strong knowledge of Java core, Android SDK (including coroutines) and Android IPC mechanisms.
• Basic understanding of Linux OS and networking protocols (TCP/IP, routing, Wi‑Fi).
• Ability to communicate technical challenges and solutions effectively.
• Proven ability to share knowledge and work in a fast‑paced environment.
