Psychiatrist – Community & Home Settings

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a dedicated Psychiatrist to deliver specialized mental health care to individuals with moderate to severe disorders in community and home environments across Dnipro and surrounding oblasts. You will work as part of mobile medical teams, providing both psychiatric and general medical services while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric consultations and treatment for moderate and severe mental disorders in community or home settings.
• Assess client needs and develop individualized case‑management plans.
• Collaborate daily with psychologists, physicians, and nurses to ensure holistic care.
• Offer basic medical consultations for acute and chronic conditions and make appropriate referrals.
• Conduct group psycho‑education sessions and training courses.
• Deliver Psychological First Aid and conduct field visits as needed.
• Support pharmaceutical management, including psychotropic medication oversight.
• Manage urgent cases, refer appropriately, and participate in Ministry of Health case‑management meetings.
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation and submit regular activity reports.
• Participate in supervision meetings and respond to referrals from other IRC departments.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialization in Psychiatry.
• Minimum of 3 years professional experience in psychiatric practice.
• Experience providing care in community or home‑based settings.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical documentation.
• Willingness to travel frequently within Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv oblasts.
