Mid-level Node.js Backend Engineer

About the role

Skelar, a venture builder, is hiring a Mid-level Node.js Backend Engineer for its partner company Duomo, a Christian‑values app that helps users turn Scripture into daily habits. You will design and scale backend services that automate marketing technology, creative workflows, and observability while ensuring high reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and scale backend services for MarTech automation and integration workflows.
• Build tools that automate the asset lifecycle and streamline creative operations.
• Implement comprehensive observability (metrics, logs, tracing) to monitor system performance.
• Expand test coverage and set up automated testing pipelines for fault‑tolerant code.
• Participate in system architecture design, code reviews, and performance optimisation.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional experience with Node.js, TypeScript and NestJS.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and a typed ORM (Drizzle, Prisma or TypeORM).
• Hands‑on experience with Redis and message‑queue systems (BullMQ, RabbitMQ or SQS), including idempotency and distributed locks.
• Proficiency in integrating third‑party REST APIs, handling rate limits, pagination and partial failures.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines and unit testing using Jest.
