Lead Billing Data Analyst – Payments & Subscription Analytics

About the role

We’re looking for a Lead Billing Data Analyst to own the data strategy behind our subscription billing operations. This hands‑on leadership role involves building analyses and pipelines to improve billing performance while mentoring a team of analysts.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and report on billing and support performance metrics such as payments, renewals, refunds, and disputes.
• Build and maintain data pipelines that deliver accurate, timely, and reliable billing data.
• Apply statistical methods to model scenarios, run what‑if analyses, and anticipate financial risk.
• Design and run A/B tests and experiments to evaluate billing and support initiatives.
• Analyze the impact of product, marketing, and pricing changes on billing outcomes and customer support metrics.
• Develop dashboards and visual reports that provide real‑time visibility into billing health.
• Translate insights into recommendations that reduce disputes, churn, and operational inefficiencies.
• Document analyses, workflows, definitions, and data logic for clarity and reproducibility.

Required profile

• Deep subscription billing expertise in a recurring‑revenue business.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, window functions, and performance‑aware query writing.
• Proficiency with data‑visualization tools such as Omni, Tableau, or Power BI.
• People‑leadership experience: setting priorities, reviewing output, and ensuring team results.
• Statistical and analytical rigor, including forecasting and experiment design.
• Familiarity with billing platforms/processors like Stripe, Braintree, or Nuvei.
• Strong communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Proven cross‑functional collaboration with Billing, Support, Finance, Product, and Marketing.
