Information Management Officer

About the role

The Information Management Officer will support UNICEF Ukraine’s effort to build an integrated Monitoring System and data ecosystem. Over a 12‑month UN Volunteer assignment, the officer will lead data migration, configure ActivityInfo, develop Excel and Power BI tools, and ensure knowledge transfer to UNICEF staff.

Key responsibilities

• Migrate and import historical and current partner reporting data into ActivityInfo, mapping fields, transforming datasets and documenting results.
• Stabilise and optimise partner and M&E Excel templates, creating Power Query transformations, validation rules and automated quality checks.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dataflows, semantic models, DAX calculations and dashboards, ensuring reliable data refreshes.
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and train UNICEF staff for routine operation of the Monitoring System.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in information management, data migration, or business‑intelligence systems.
• Fluent in Ukrainian and English.
• Ukrainian national, legal resident or refugee status in Ukraine.

Required skills

• ActivityInfo (or comparable web‑based data‑management platform).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including Power Query (M) and PivotTables.
• Power BI – data modelling, DAX, dashboards, Power BI Service and dataflows.
• Data integration using APIs, relational databases, SQL and REST/OData.
• Programming for data processing – Python, R or VBA.
• Microsoft Power Platform – Dataverse, Power Apps, Power Automate (desirable).

What we offer

• Volunteer Living Allowance: USD 1,869 per month (paid in UAH) plus a one‑time entry lump sum of USD 350.
