Human Rights Officer – OHCHR Ukraine (P3)

About the role

The Human Rights Officer will support the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine by researching, analysing and reporting on human rights violations and emerging trends. The position contributes to NORCAP’s mission of strengthening international cooperation and evidence‑based action on human rights and energy security.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse information on human rights issues, including gender dimensions, from diverse data sources.
• Draft briefing notes, interview summaries, analytical reports and other correspondence on human rights matters.
• Participate in hearings, consultations and training programmes, preparing summaries of outcomes.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of political and legal developments affecting human rights in Ukraine.
• Ensure compliance with protection standards and safe handling of information.
• Support capacity‑building activities for national law‑enforcement officials, civil‑society representatives and NGOs.

Required profile

• Norwegian citizenship (mandatory).
• Experience in human rights research, monitoring or reporting.
• Familiarity with gender‑based analysis and international human rights standards.
• Ability to work with confidential information and adhere to protection protocols.
