Head of Internal Audit (Chief Internal Auditor)

About the role

The Head of Internal Audit will lead ZEN.COM’s internal audit function in Ukraine, ensuring compliance with the National Bank of Ukraine, International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, and the bank’s own policies. The role reports directly to the Supervisory Board / Audit Committee and drives risk‑based audit planning across all business areas.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and develop the internal audit department in line with NBU and IIA standards.
• Design and implement risk‑based annual and strategic audit plans and obtain approval from the Supervisory Board / Audit Committee.
• Conduct audits of IT, risk management, financial, operational and compliance functions, including direct participation.
• Assess the effectiveness of internal control, corporate governance and risk management systems.
• Perform IT and information security audits, evaluating cybersecurity processes, data protection and business continuity.
• Prepare audit reports with recommendations and monitor remediation of identified deficiencies.
• Coordinate reporting and interaction with the Supervisory Board, the National Bank of Ukraine and external auditors.
• Lead and develop the internal audit team, handling recruitment, motivation and performance evaluation.

Required profile

• University degree in economics, finance, audit, law or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of internal or external audit experience in the banking sector.
• Proven experience establishing and developing a risk‑based internal audit function.
• In‑depth knowledge of National Bank of Ukraine requirements, IIA standards and corporate governance principles.
• Professional certifications such as CIA, ACCA, CISA are a plus.
• Fluency in English and Ukrainian (spoken and written).
