Finance Officer – Dnipro

About the role

The Finance Officer will manage day‑to‑day financial operations for NRC Ukraine in Dnipro, ensuring compliance with the organisation’s Financial Handbook, donor requirements and Ukrainian regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to the Financial Handbook, NRC policies and donor requirements.
• Implement and maintain financial systems and procedures at the office level.
• Advise staff on procurement financial policies and required documentation.
• Prepare periodic financial reports and share improvement ideas for the finance function.
• Process timely payments to contractors, suppliers and other expenditures, verifying vouchers and supporting documents.
• Perform daily bookkeeping using the NRC Agresso accounting system and record budget allocations and accounting codes.
• Verify purchase requests, orders, quotations and authorisations for compliance with NRC procedures.
• Record VAT on invoices each month and maintain proper filing and archiving of all financial documents.
• Monitor cash balances in bank accounts and cash boxes, ensuring accurate daily updates.
• Coordinate cost allocations with finance teams in other locations and support budget allocation and forecasting.
• Act as Acting Finance Coordinator when the Finance Coordinator is absent.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in the commercial sector or an INGO.
• Proven knowledge of audit requirements and Ukrainian tax legislation.
• Fluency in English and Ukrainian, both written and spoken.
• Experience working with local financial institutions, donors and tax authorities.
