Deputy Director – Humanitarian NGO Platform

About the role

The Deputy Director will lead subnational coordination for the Humanitarian NGO Platform in Ukraine, fostering information sharing and collaboration among NGOs operating in eastern regions. Based in Kyiv, Dnipro or Kharkiv, the role supports strategic governance and represents the Platform as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engagement with NGO actors in eastern Ukraine, convening Area Manager Working Groups to solve operational challenges and share best practices.
• Maintain regular interaction with regional humanitarian coordination mechanisms, ensuring frontline realities inform national advocacy.
• Facilitate constructive dialogue with local and regional authorities on humanitarian priorities and access issues.
• Provide strategic support to the Director, contribute to governance processes, and prepare analytical briefings.
• Promote participation of national and local NGOs in coordination discussions and support localization efforts.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in international relations, humanitarian studies or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in humanitarian response or coordination, including field work in complex emergencies.
• Strong understanding of humanitarian coordination architecture in conflict settings.
• Proven ability to build relationships and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
• Fluency in English and Ukrainian; Russian knowledge is an asset.
