Community Nurse – Mobile Outreach (Dnipro, Ukraine)

About the role

The Community Nurse will join the International Rescue Committee’s Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) in Dnipro, providing primary health‑care services to conflict‑affected and displaced populations. Working closely with a doctor and psychologist, the nurse will deliver care in hard‑to‑reach communities and support health‑promotion activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to clients in mobile outreach settings.
• Perform basic diagnostics such as blood pressure, glucose testing, and ECG, recording results per IRC protocol.
• Dispense medications prescribed by the doctor and explain proper use.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records for all patients visited by the MMU.
• Collaborate with the doctor and pharmacist to manage medication stocks and supplies.
• Contribute to quality‑of‑care improvements through feedback and documentation.
• Conduct health needs assessments and support awareness‑raising sessions on SRH, MHPSS, NCDs, outbreak prevention, and healthy lifestyles.
• Monitor public‑health conditions, provide community consultations, and develop strategies to improve sanitary and epidemiological conditions.
• Collect data through interviews and observations, update service mapping, and refer individuals to appropriate services.

Required profile

• Registered nurse able to deliver primary health‑care services in community settings.
• Willingness to travel frequently across the Dnipro oblast.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members, including doctors and psychologists.
