C++ Autopilot Engineer

About the role

Occam Industries is looking for a C++ Autopilot Engineer to design and implement AI‑driven flight functionality, tactics and behaviours for combat drones. You will work side‑by‑side with the flight‑test team, ship code onto physical platforms, and see your changes deployed to the frontline within days.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain autopilot software using C++ for ArduPilot and Betaflight based flight controllers.
• Translate machine‑learning outputs into concrete flight behaviours and tactical routines.
• Perform hands‑on testing, debugging and optimisation on real hardware in field conditions.
• Collaborate closely with European ML teams to integrate AI models.
• Ensure code quality, documentation and rapid iteration cycles.

Required profile

• Strong fundamentals in C++ development.
• Experience with flight controllers such as ArduPilot or Betaflight.
• Comfort iterating quickly on hardware under real‑world constraints.
• Willingness to work directly on drones rather than from a desk.
• Bilingual English/Ukrainian is a plus but not mandatory.
