National Risk Management and Compliance Officer

About the role

The International Organization for Migration is seeking a National Risk Management and Compliance Officer to support its Ukraine response. The role provides technical advice on integrating risk management into decision‑making, monitors compliance with internal policies and donor agreements, and contributes to strengthening internal control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on risk management, update risk registers, and monitor implementation of risk treatment plans.
• Assist the Head of Accountability and Quality Control Unit in developing and improving risk and compliance processes.
• Monitor use of IOM resources for conformity with strategic plans, rules, regulations, and donor agreements.
• Draft compliance‑related Standard Operating Procedures and escalate risk, compliance, or oversight issues as needed.
• Analyze fraud data, deliver anti‑fraud training, and prepare risk information for internal and external dissemination.
• Travel on short notice within Ukraine to support field offices.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in business, public administration, finance, accounting, audit, compliance, monitoring & evaluation, or a related field with at least five years of relevant experience (or a university degree with seven years of experience).
• Professional certifications such as CA, CPA, CIA, CRMA, or CFE are advantageous.
• Proven experience with Enterprise Risk Management frameworks (ISO 31000, COSO) and internal control systems.
• Fluency in English and Ukrainian (oral and written).
