Psychologist – Community & Home-Based Support

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a qualified Psychologist to deliver specialized mental health support to beneficiaries in Mykolaiv and surrounding communities. Working within the MHPSS mobile team, you will provide individual counselling, group sessions and psycho‑education to clients with moderate to severe conditions, both in community settings and through home visits.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual psychological counselling and conduct group psycho‑education sessions.
• Assess beneficiaries’ mental health needs and develop individualized case management plans.
• Deliver Psychological First Aid and remote counselling via phone or online as required.
• Conduct structured clinical assessments while maintaining strict confidentiality and accurate documentation.
• Manage emergency cases, make appropriate referrals and coordinate with nurses, psychiatrists and partner organisations.
• Participate in regular supervision meetings and team coordination sessions.

Required profile

• Experience providing psychological support to clients with moderate to severe mental health conditions.
• Ability to work in community and home‑based settings, including frequent travel within Khersonska oblast.
• Strong collaboration skills to work closely with nurses, psychiatrists and partner NGOs.
• Commitment to confidentiality, systematic documentation and adherence to ethical standards.
